• Aluminum alloy: the advantages are light weight, good thermal conductivity, can shorten the heating and cooling time of the mold, improve production efficiency. At the same time, the processing performance of aluminum alloy material is good, which is easy to manufacture complex shape mold cavities, and is suitable for some cases where the weight is required or the production batch is small.

• Cavity structure: Designed according to the shape, size and accuracy requirements of SMC wallboard, usually using integral or combined structure. The integral cavity has simple structure and high strength, but it is difficult to process the wall panel with complex shape. The combined cavity is composed of a number of parts, which is easy to process and maintain, but the accuracy and sealing of the splicing need to be ensured.

• Demoulding mechanism: common demoulding methods include ejector rod demoulding, push plate demoulding, etc. Ejector rod has simple structure and reliable action, and is suitable for wall panel with simple shape. Push-plate demoulding is suitable for thin-wall or large area of the wall panel, can be evenly pushed out of the wall panel, to avoid deformation or damage during demoulding.

Guide mechanism: In order to ensure the accurate position of the upper die and the lower die during the closing process, the die is usually provided with a guide mechanism, such as a guide post and guide sleeve. The guiding mechanism can improve the accuracy of the mold, reduce the wear and damage of the mold, and ensure the molding quality of SMC wallboard.

• Processing and manufacturing: First of all, mold parts are processed according to the design drawings. The commonly used processing methods are mechanical processing, electric discharge machining, wire cutting processing, etc. Mechanical processing can ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of the mold, and electric discharge machining and wire cutting processing are suitable for the processing of complex shape mold parts.

• Surface treatment: In order to improve the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and release performance of the mold, it is necessary to treat the surface of the mold. Common surface treatment methods include nitriding, hard chromium plating, electroless nickel plating, etc. These surface treatment processes can form a hard, smooth protective film on the surface of the mold, extend the service life of the mold, and improve the surface quality of SMC wallboard.

• Regular inspection: regular inspection of the mold, including the appearance of the mold, dimensional accuracy, guide mechanism, release mechanism and other aspects. Check whether the mold has deformation, wear, cracks and other defects, timely find the problem and repair or replace parts.

• Cleaning and lubrication: After each use of the mold, the residual materials and oil on the surface of the mold should be removed in time to keep the mold surface clean. At the same time, the moving parts of the mold such as guide column and ejector rod are lubricated to reduce friction and ensure the normal opening and closing of the mold.

• Anti-rust treatment: During the storage process of the mold, anti-rust measures should be taken, such as applying anti-rust oil and placing it in a dry and ventilated environment to prevent rust corrosion of the mold, affecting the accuracy and service life of the mold.
