Product Introduction

Mould Design

 

1.Preliminary Planning: Plan the design layout, select mould materials, and consider potential issues that may arise during the moulding process.

2.Create a 3D model of the mould using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Conduct a thorough inspection of the model and optimize the design to ensure dimensional accuracy and structural rationality.

3.Prototype Production: After the design is finalized, produce a mould prototype and manufacture a batch of housing samples. Conduct assembly, durability, and functionality tests on these samples.

4.Structural Design: Consider elements such as the mould's parting surface, number of cavities, cooling system, and ejection mechanism. Design a two-way demoulding mechanism. To enhance cooling efficiency, install appropriate cooling channels in the mould.

Mould Material Selection

 

1.Mould Steel: Commonly used types include P20 and 718. These steels possess excellent strength, hardness, and wear resistance, enabling them to withstand the high pressure and high temperature during the injection moulding process, thus ensuring the mould's service life and moulding precision.

2.Hot Work Mould Steel: For moulds requiring rapid cooling and heating, hot work mould steels like H13 can be selected. They exhibit good thermal fatigue performance and thermal conductivity.

Manufacturing Process

 

1.Cutting Processing: Use equipment such as CNC machining centers to perform milling, drilling, boring, and other machining operations on the mould steel.

2.Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM): Achieve precise machining by using electrical discharge to erode metal.

3.Heat Treatment: Conduct heat treatment processes such as quenching and tempering on the mould to improve its hardness, strength, and toughness, as well as enhance its wear resistance and fatigue resistance.

4.Surface Treatment: Adopt surface treatment processes like nitriding and chrome plating to increase the mould surface's hardness, smoothness, and corrosion resistance. This also reduces the friction coefficient between plastic and the mould surface, facilitating demoulding and improving the surface quality of the housing.

Injection Moulding Process

 

1.Material Preparation: Based on the performance requirements of the water purifier housing, select suitable plastic materials (e.g., ABS, PC). Add plastic pellets into the hopper of the injection moulding machine and heat them to a molten state.

2.Injection Moulding: Driven by the screw of the injection moulding machine, the molten plastic is injected into the mould cavity through the nozzle. It fills the cavity under high pressure, taking the shape of the water purifier housing.

3.Cooling and Solidification: Under the action of the mould's cooling system, the plastic inside the mould is rapidly cooled and solidified, forming the final water purifier housing.

4.Demoulding: After cooling is completed, the mould opens. The formed housing is ejected from the mould via the ejection mechanism, completing one injection moulding cycle.
