Mold design

 

 

• Considerations: The design should account for the shape, size, depth, and wall thickness of the basin. For example, with a circular basin mold, the arc's circumference must be precisely measured, while for a square basin mold, the angles must be right and the side lengths accurate. Additionally, the basin's functionality needs to be considered-such as a wash basin that requires the correct depth and angle of tilt to prevent water from splashing.

 

Parting Surface Design: The selection of an appropriate parting surface is essential. For basins with simple shapes, a single parting surface may suffice. However, for basins with more complex shapes or specific aesthetic requirements, multiple parting surfaces might be necessary to ensure smooth product release and maintain high-quality appearance.

 

Manufacturing material

 

• Die steel: It has the advantages of high strength, high hardness, good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and can withstand high temperature and high pressure in the molding process of melamine. Common die steels are P20 steel, H13 steel, etc., of which P20 steel is suitable for the general requirements of the melamine basin mold, H13 steel has better thermal fatigue performance and toughness, suitable for the production of large quantities, high requirements of the mold.


• Aluminum alloy: small density, good thermal conductivity, conducive to the cooling of the mold and shorten the forming cycle, but its hardness and strength are relatively low, suitable for the production of simple shape, small batch of melamine basin mold.

 

Manufacturing process

 

• Hot press molding: Put the melamine powder into the heated mold, and apply certain pressure and temperature through the hot press forming machine to melt, flow and cure the melamine powder in the mold. The general hot pressing temperature is between 120 ° C and 200 ° C, and the pressure is between 300 tons and 2000 tons, and the specific parameters are determined according to the size and shape of the basin.


• Injection molding: Suitable for some small, thin-walled melamine basin products. After the melamine resin is heated to a molten state, it is injected into the mold cavity by an injection molding machine and cooled to form.

 

Quality control

 

• Appearance inspection: mainly check whether there are scratches, bubbles, missing materials, flash and other defects on the surface of the table basin. The surface should be smooth, flat and uniform in color.

 

• Dimensional accuracy measurement: Using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc. to measure the length, width, height, wall thickness and other key dimensions of the basin to ensure that the dimensional deviation is within the tolerance range required by the design.

 

• Physical performance testing: physical performance testing of the melamine basin, such as hardness testing, heat resistance testing, water resistance testing, etc., to ensure that the product meets the relevant quality standards and use requirements.

 

Care and maintenance

 

• Daily maintenance: After each use, clean the residual materials on the surface of the mold in time to prevent the accumulation of materials from affecting the performance of the mold. Lubricate the moving parts of the mold such as thimble, slider, etc., and add appropriate amount of lubricating oil to ensure smooth movement.


• Regular maintenance: Regular comprehensive inspection of the mold, including mold appearance, dimensional accuracy, cavity surface wear, etc. The parts that are seriously worn should be replaced in time, and the mold should be treated with rust prevention to prevent the mold from rusting and corrosion.
