[Ship] Express With Carbon Fiber! Ultra-light Luxury High-performance Yacht
Jun 28, 2025
Ultralight luxury high-performance yacht officially unveiled to the public at the Palma International Boat Show a few days ago, it marks the birth of a new generation of ultralight luxury high-performance yachts. This all-carbon fiber yacht is 15.95 meters long and weighs only 7.5 tons, but can reach an amazing top speed of 45 knots, which is rare among boats of the same class. At a cruising speed of 20 knots, it consumes only 45 liters of fuel per hour, significantly improving the cruising range and fuel economy.

Back to the details of the yacht's construction: the yacht is 14.12 meters long at the waterline, 4.4 meters wide, and can accommodate 12 guests. Its core technology is reflected in the following aspects. The hull and deck are made of carbon fiber vacuum epoxy resin in one-time infusion molding - this "king of resins" is expensive, but it can ensure excellent tensile strength and durability. The displacement is 11 tons when fully loaded, which is about 50% lighter than a traditional 50-foot fiberglass yacht. This comparison is worth pondering.
Here we need to pay attention to the craftsmanship of its monohull structure itself. Note that this structure must be a rigid system without giant ring frames or longitudinal reinforcements. The hull and deck are cured at a glass transition temperature of more than 90°C, and the structural parts and interior parts are cured at more than 80°C. Considering the conductive properties of carbon fiber, the cabin is lined with fiberglass to prevent stray current corrosion - this solution comes from its supercar manufacturing experience.

At present, the global transportation industry is accelerating its transformation and upgrading towards intelligence, greening, digitization, lightweighting and ultra-high speed. Composite materials have become key materials for breaking through industry technical bottlenecks, achieving cost reduction, efficiency improvement and green development with their core advantages such as light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and excellent designability. In order to promote domestic transportation, explore broader development prospects and build a new future for transportation, we will focus on the collaborative innovation of "industry, academia, research and application", focusing on the fields of aviation low altitude, rail transportation, automobiles, ships, etc., and work together to promote the industry to develop in a more efficient, safer and more sustainable direction.
